Understanding Your ADHD Experience

Living with ADHD can be both a strength and a challenge. You may feel creative, intuitive, deeply caring, or full of ideas—yet also overwhelmed, scattered, exhausted, or misunderstood.

Maybe you’re constantly juggling too much, feeling behind, or masking so hard that you collapse at the end of the day. You might struggle with time, focus, emotional intensity, motivation, organization, sensory overload, or maintaining routines. You may even question your worth when tasks others find “easy” feel impossible.

Many clients come to ADHD counselling feeling:

  • Frustrated by the gap between intentions and follow-through

  • Overwhelmed by responsibilities

  • Emotionally drained or burnt out

  • Misunderstood by partners, family, or colleagues

  • Stuck in cycles of guilt, shame, or masking

  • Sensory overloaded or constantly tired

  • Unsure how to advocate for their needs

  • Disconnected from their strengths

If this resonates, please know: nothing is “wrong” with you. Your brain works differently—and beautifully. My role is to help you understand your neurotype deeply and support you in building a life that actually fits you.

What Is ADHD Counselling?

ADHD counselling offers a supportive, non-judgmental space to explore how ADHD affects your daily life, relationships, work, self-esteem, and nervous system.

Together, we look at both your strengths and your struggles and create a plan that works with your brain’s wiring—not against it.

This service is grounded in neurodivergence-affirming practice, meaning:

  • ADHD is viewed as a natural neurotype, not a flaw

  • Masking is understood, not judged

  • “Difficulties” are seen in context, not as personal failures

  • Your lived experience is valid

  • Tools are adapted to fit your real life, energy patterns, and sensory needs

More About Andrea

I’m a Registered Social Worker with a Master’s of Social Work and a specialization in neurodivergent-affirming practice. I’ve worked with hundreds of ADHDers and neurodivergent clients who have spent years feeling misunderstood, overwhelmed, or “too much.”

As someone who is a late-diagnosed ADHDer myself, I understand these experiences from both a personal and clinical lens. I know the exhaustion of trying to fit into systems not built for neurodivergent minds—and the relief that comes from finally being understood without judgment. My approach is rooted in psychological safety, shared language, and compassion for the nonlinear paths many ADHDers walk.

As a therapist, I don’t teach you to “fix” yourself—I help you build a life that honours your neurotype, your sensory profile, and your strengths.

How to Get Started

  • We explore your challenges, ADHD patterns, sensory needs, and strengths. Together, we create a plan personalized to your brain.

  • You receive practical tools, emotional support, and ADHD-friendly strategies you can actually use in real life—not one-size-fits-all advice.
